Dr. Nili Wazana is a member of the research group "Archaeologies of Memory". She is a senior lecturer at the Department of Bible and the Department of the History of the Jewish People and Contemporary Judaism of the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Her research deals with cultural, literary and historical contacts between biblical Israel and the ancient Near East. Her first book All the Boundaries of the Land: The Promised Land in Biblical Thought in Light of the Ancient Near East, was published by the Bialik Publishing House, 2007 (Hebrew, translation in English to be published by Eisenbrauns). She is currently writing a book entitled: The Voice of  the Vanquished, dealing with the Bible as reaction literature to the yoke of conquering Empires.
